Happy March!
The BMSSA has some exciting, upcoming events for you!
1. Introducing Mues-Days
For the month of March, the BMSSA is introducing its pilot project, Mues-days! Essentially, the association will be organizing museum outings, featuring special exhibits, FREE of charge. The events will serve as an opportunity to meet and mingle with your BMS students and execs and discuss its relation to topics examined in class.
The first event will take place on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 from 6-8pm at the AGO featuring the Art Spiegelman’s CO-MIX: A Retrospective exhibit. (Meeting location: inside the main entrance)
The second Mues-day will take place on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 from 3-5pm at the ROM featuring the Douglas Coupland: everywhere is anywhere is anything is everything exhibit. (Meeting location: inside the main entrance)
If interested, please sign-up on the sign-up sheet posted on the BMSSA office door, room 229 in the Kelly Library; through the BMSSA facebook events page (“The Book and Media Studies Student Association”); or send an email to bookandmedia@utoronto.ca. Everyone is welcome, so grab your friends and fellow classmates and come hangout with your lovely BMS students and execs. Hope to see you there!
2. Bookbinding Workshop with the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild
Interested in book arts or the process of bookbinding? A bookbinder from the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild will be leading a hands-on, bookbinding workshop. You can bind your own book and take it home to use! Stay tuned for the date and location!
3. Career Panel
Don’t know what you can do with your BMS degree? A career panel featuring BMS and St.Michael’s College alumni from various industries related to BMS will share their background experience. Come out and connect with the panelists and learn the different opportunities to get the most out of your BMS degree. Date and location TBA (likely towards the end of March)
