Governance

The Book & Media Studies Student Association (BMSSA) has been a voice for the students in the Book and Media Studies program since 2010. We strive to foster an engaging community for students, provide support and listen to concerns, and advocate for an equitable learning and collaborative environment for all current and future students. As the program continues to grow each year, we offer opportunities for students to take advantage of their academic journey at UofT.

How we function…

This course union runs under St. Michael’s College and the Arts and Science Students’ Union (ASSU). We follow ASSU guidelines for all internal and external programming to ensure that student funds are used appropriately and go towards the betterment of this community. Elections run at the end of the academic year (typically at the beginning of April) for the next year’s team. All positions are self-nominated, then elected through a digital ballot. A second election will run at the beginning of the Fall semester to fill any vacant positions.
